The 19-year-old scored the Blues' second goal in their EFL Cup win at Swansea on Wednesday night and now hopes to keep hold of his place at Old Trafford
Manchester City youngster Aleix Garcia has set his sights on Manchester United after helping his side reach the EFL Cup fourth round with a goal on his first start of the season.

Garcia, 19, scored City's second in the 2-1 victory at Swansea on Wednesday night and is now relishing the prospect of a trip to Old Trafford in three weeks' time.

The youngster was named on the bench when the Blues beat United 2-1 in the Premier League earlier in September, but after earning the praise of Pep Guardiola for his performance in Wales he is hopeful of keeping his place in the cup side.

"It's going to be a great game to play," Garcia told reporters. "I'm going to try to work hard so Pep gives me another chance for that game but it's going to be difficult because all my team-mates are at so high a level. I'm going to keep working hard so that I have the chance."

Garcia has played in a deep midfield role since joining City's youth ranks a year ago but was asked to play in an advanced position alongside left-back Angelino for the game in Swansea due to Guardiola's need to rest his more senior players.

But the City boss was pleased with their performances, as Angelino set up City's first goal and Garcia scored the second.
