US discloses how to defeat Boko Haram! Read 6 things Buhari must do!

Nigeria experiences significant levels of terrorist activity and US government experts has proposed six ways to defeat Boko Haram.

Bureau of counterterrorism and countering violent extremism has prepared  research “Country reports on terrorism 2015″

The Trans-Sahara Counterterrorism Partnership (TSCTP), a US-funded and designed to build the capacity and cooperation of military, law enforcement, and civilian actors across North and West Africa to counter terrorism, stated that Nigeria must:

– Enabling and enhancing the capacity militaries

Enabling and enhancing the capacity of North and West African militaries and law enforcement to conduct counterterrorism operations;

– Integrating

Integrating the ability of North and West African militaries and law enforcement, and other supporting partners, to operate regionally and collaboratively on counterterrorism efforts;

– Enhancing border security

Enhancing border security capacity to monitor, restrain, and interdict terrorist movements;

– The rule of law

Strengthening the rule of law, including access to justice, and law enforcement’s ability to detect, disrupt, respond to, investigate, and prosecute terrorist activity;

– Monitoring

Monitoring and countering the financing of terrorism (such as that related to kidnapping for ransom);

– Reducing  support

Reducing the limited sympathy and support among communities for violent extremism.

Established in 2005, the organisation include Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, and Tunisia.

According to the report, TSCTP has already built capacity and cooperation despite setbacks caused by a restive political climate, violent extremism, ethnic rebellions, and extra-constitutional actions that interrupted work and progress with select partner countries.

The experts state: “Nigeria and its neighbors agreed to form a Multinational Joint Task Force to combat Boko Haram, and remained actively engaged in countering the group throughout the region.”
